Craft Day

Great to see so much creativity coming from Rakiura on Craft Day. Well done!

Top Team

Last week we had Sports Canterbury come and run Top Team for us. It was great to see some fantastic team work while the students were enjoying themselves. A special thankyou to the parents who helped us run the activities.

A special congratulations to Molly N, Brody and Poppy who were part of the winning team!

Lovelock Writing

Lovelock have been working hard at creating metaphors and comparing ourselves to buildings, vehicles, food and clothing.
We have been writing our metaphors on postcards that we are going to send to Edendale School in Auckland. Edendale School will then send us back some postcards!
Check out our work so far...

We also get to colour in the back of our postcards and they then fit together like a jigsaw. This is how it is looking so far:

Feuerstein

Today we had our starter for our week in Feuerstein. Rachel gave us a science experiment to do - except she had named everyday objects differently! For example a balloon became an "air container" and a straw was a "sucking dispenser!". It made it really hard to understand the problem!
That made us think about our principle (or "big idea") for the week which is:

"If we have a shared language, the problem is much easier to solve"

Check out the videos of our science experiment below.

Bowls

Today we had our first lesson of bowls with Emily from Sport Canterbury. We learnt how to hold the bowl probably and how much speed we need to put on the bowl. We also played some fun games. Our next session isn't all the way until Week 10 but we can't wait!
